We visited the "Jesus is Lord" orphanage in Bujumbura, Burundi, directed by Pastor Leonard.

Soil dirt on hands

We visited a Christian orphanage in Bujumbura. This experience brought mixed feelings as many kids were abandoned or lost their parents, and what we do is not much: spend one day with them, bringing toys and clothes. A mission team member paid for that day's food, and we heard they eat like that only once a year. At the same time, Pastor Leonard, the orphanage's director, has legally adopted 206 children and provides food and education until they're big enough to fly with their wings. He's living there with his wife and children among the other kids.

Jesus is Lord's orphanage mission

Pastor Leonard is the director of the orphanage in Burundi. They care for 64 children with housing, food, clothes, and medical care. They are planning to build 2 more dormitories to host more children.

Pastor Leonard's orphanage provides education to the children until they're 18 years old, allowing them to become autonomous when they leave the orphanage.

"Jesus is Lord" orphanage also assists 50 widows in agriculture and small business.
